He received numerous awards during residency, including Resident of the Year and resident teaching awards, and was called upon to serve as Chief Resident during his final year of residency.

He returned to his hometown of Houston where he completed his fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the renowned Houston Methodist Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in the Texas Medical Center, ranked among the Top 10 programs by the US News and World Report. During his fellowship, he trained at Texas Children’s Hospital as well as the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Along with being double board-certified, Dr. Qureshi is a diplomate in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.

In his spare time, Dr. Qureshi loves to travel and go running.
